Cell biology studies the cell as the unit of life, on microscopic and molecular level. Cell biology overlaps with other biology branches including physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics and microbiology, which will be addressed exhaustively in other courses of the medical curriculum. Here, we focus on the points that will be addressed in the cell biology course according to the syllabi.
Cell biology is developing fast and this book got some key recent progresses included when necessary. However, this book seeks to help the students to gain fundamentals in the more established cell biology. With these fundamentals, the students could catch up the most recent developments.
This English edition is developed from a chinese edition by Prof. Fang. The first edition of this book was printed in 2017. The online version will be updated whenever necessary. We would like to thank any readers that did or will give suggestions.
